Danger Capital Corporation was founded in 2015 as a play on words. I thought about everything I had learned working on both sides of the table, having worked at a number of venture financed companies, started others, and invested personally and institutionally in others.
Why Danger Capital Corporation? If I was starting a venture fund, it was a terrible name. Danger Capital putting other people’s money at risk. Great! That will really make LPs comfortable over the long periods of time and the difficulties in actually building value.
Though it might have been the most truthful of pitches. My initials are DCC and I had seen Jon Medved speak at the 2015 Canadian Crowdfunding Summit where he said,
“In English venture capital sounds wonderful like an adventure, in Israel we’re very direct; we call it ‘danger capital.’” – Jon Medved, OurCrowd
The name Danger Capital started as a bit of a play on words. I knew nothing about the implications or impact that decisions had for me as a founder until many years, rounds and hires later. Danger Capital is about helping founders understand the motivations, implications and requirements of investors through the lens of a founder.
Danger Capital provides coaching, brutally honest educational and advisory services to emerging technology companies about the consistency, clarity and conciseness of their milestones and financing targets. My goal is to cut through the buzzwords and get to the core assumptions about your company, your desired/potential investors and your future customers so we can build a plan to continue to grow a successful business.
The goal is to build an execution model for your business that ties future revenues to the activities needed to build and manage both the product and the customer funnel. Because the only thing we can be absolutely sure about your plan, is that it won’t come true.
